I know how you feel. I started out in the early seventies being a nurses aide in nursing homes in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and then in the early eighties I got my nursing degree. I picked geriatric nursing because I enjoyed working with the elderly. I understand how you can get attached and how awful it feels to let them go. :( This is a very hard time of year for the older ones as you well know..expect more sadness...but you'll be so busy soon maybe you'll be able not to think about it to much.

Oh no..not unpacking...

This apartment has paneling too, but it is painted white. Some people went hog wild across the country paneling every wall at one time..I don't even want to think what they were covering up!

Is it warming up down there yet?

the paneling here is awful, everything is brown. but its a roof over my head for now. this is not a forever house.

Oh, like New Hampshire..:)

When we went through Cleveland the first time, I was thoroughly frightened..when we travel now we go through that city in the morning before anyone wakes up. I hope you live somewhere a bit more rural.

Yeah, it's like our digs here, just a place to come to at first. If I thought I had to stay in this apartment I'd be very discouraged.

I know what you mean. Although, I never wanted to settle down. Up until now I liked moving.
We've owned three houses and two of them I remuddled, one I inherited and just couldn't get attached enough to keep it and then we decided that we prefer living in apartments, so that the money we had could go toward doing things. Our summer is planned out to an inch of it's life with activities away from where we are living. So I am glad we don't have a house to worry about.

But, I understand that traditionally there are more people who buy a house and stay there for most of their lives. If that is what they want..I do miss having an herb garden as spring approaches though.

Yeah, it does sound romantic rather than crazy! :D

i agree totally, its comforting to know there are others that are the same. i have owned one house, and hated it. after all the kids and raising grands, i will not have a permanent house after i am finished raising lily. i am lucky i have enough people who love me that i can just cruise around.

:D I see many adventures in your future...three years can go by very quickly...like last year, didn't it just fly by? It seems like yesterday you were being attacked by chickens and planting a garden...and swimming in the river. I'll never forget those chickens..:D
