i am working as a cna at a nursing home now, i love the job, well, i love the old folks that consider the place home. some days its sad, but if i can make a difference in the lives of the people who live there...theres a man who just came back "home", as he calls it. no family or friends. no visits from anyone. he fell and was in the hospital for several weeks. he was sent home to die. i have been feeding him, he talks to me and since hes had a huge stroke, its very diffcult to understand him. he loves chocolate pudding. he now has pneumonia, aspirates what he eats and drinks. he failed his swallow test. he tries to feed himself, but the food just falls out of his mouth. i cry when i watch him attempt to satisfy his hunger. i guess sooner or later he will starve to death. but i hold his hand and pat his head. guess theres not much you can do. i'm not sure, but hes in his 80's or 90's. this is the last stop for most that live there.
in other news, lily is making friends and is becoming happy. i am happy.
