Tomorrow is the big day. Noah's 1st birthday. I bought him a ride on fire truck, a metal one with a blinking red light and a bell that you pull. He's way too young to push the pedals, but he'll look cute sitting in it for pictures - and climbing in and out of it will thrill him. I'm going to bake him teddy bear cookies tonight with little red hearts on them like a Raggedy Andy. He'll take them to daycare for his birthday and wear a little shirt I bought him that says "1st Birthday Boy". How cute is that. Everyone will go into a diabetic coma tomorrow just listening to me. Oh well, you only have ONE first birthday.
The following week, the 24th, is going to be his actual party. We're having 60 people. Half of them are kids and half are adults. We're having it in the back yard, a BBQ. I've been so busy and so has everyone else. Tom painted and papered the kitchen and I've been getting the house together. I'll probably buy new chairs and carpets for the living room and a new carpet for the dining room before that day. I need them anyway, so this is the incentive to finally do it. I hate getting rid of that old leather chair though. It is sooo comfy, even if it is in sad shape. It's like the raggy old cardigan that you just can't seem to part with and run to put on when there's a chill in the air! Saturday I'm picking up the antique china cupboard I put on layaway. It's awesome!
I haven't decided what we're having to eat at the party, but there will be plenty. I can't wait. Too, too cute.
