A year ago, I applied to be an Indian Restaurant Reviewer. They liked the example of my work (an article on a homeless man) and they accepted my application. However, the company couldn't get their act together until now and their email asking if I was still interested came completely out of the blue.
Blue Grape Media will be producing a monthly magazine sponsored by Balti Wines. The magazine will embrace and promote the 'Curry
Culture' here in Britain and will feature news and articles about wine and curry; as well as recipes; interviews; reviews of
restaurants, music, film and arts; sports; fashion; lifestyle etc. It will be available complementary in Indian restaurants and takeaways.
So I am to join a network of writers throughout the UK to carry out reviews and also produce other articles which may be of interest to the target audience. I can take a partner or whoever, have at least a free 3 course meal with wine, Balti Wine of course and if they like the article will feature it in the magazine. They will also approach local press and if they publish my article, I will then be paid an appropriate fee! It's a win/win situation! Hurray!
The secret will be to choose someone to accompany me who likes hot Indian food, as I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to chilli and also someone whose opinion is objective (or is that "subjective"?)
