THE WEATHER, which was finally getting reasonable, has turned on us like a catty junior high school.girl. It rained all night last night, and then it snowed in the morning. Then it sleeted again, and snowed some more, and currently we're having a sleety, icy thunderstorm. I stayed in today, but perhaps unwisely made a playdate for tomorrow morning so I either have to go out of the house or cancel. I probably should have made the playdate for Thursday. UGH. I admit it, I am weak in the face of thick layers of ice and slush.
Freya seems a little sick - runny nose, red eyes and she slept a lot today, but she wasn't feverish or cranky or anything else to get too worried about. I hope she makes a quick recovery, though, because she is due for shots on Friday and I hate to layer those on top of any illness at all.
I have made plans to go to Illinois next month and spend about a week with my folks, and hopefully see a few friends while I am there. I have some stuff to figure out, namely, where Freya will sleep. I have a Pack-n-Play, it just happens to be at a friend's house in Milwaukee right now. I also have an Arm's Reach cosleeper that is being used as a glorified blanket holder right now, and that might be just the thing to bring. But the mattress is quite a bit harder than a crib mattress, so I hope she will sleep in it. The other option would be to sleep with her on a mattress on the floor and put Finn on the box spring. Wow, I have boring problems.
Freya is fussing in the bed now so maybe that is my cue to retire there.
