Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
RANDOM THOUGHTS:
Well, these are the last few days of my summer. Tomorrow is my last day at the job I've had for 3 years. I'm leaving so that I can be an RA(resident assistant) at UCA! It allows me to have a private room and be paid $550/month! The only downfall is that starting Monday, I have to train for everyday until the 19th when school starts. And by everyday I mean Saturday and Sunday too. The only time I get off is Sunday morning up until 1:00 pm so that we can go to church. Man I'll be glad when those 3 weeks are up!
I'm sad about leaving my job only b/c I've become super close to one co-worker, Leslie. She's become a very good friend to me, but sometimes she's also a mother figure. I confide a lot of stuff to her and we also have way to much fun up here. This past year at the office has been pretty stressful and if Leslie and I hadn't been able to vent to each other we'd probably have never made it. Also, another co-worker, Robin, was let go b/c the company is losing money and needed to downsize. Robin is also a very good friend of mine and Leslie's and it's really sad considering the circumstances of why she's leaving. She's also been here 3 years. So poor Leslie is loosing her 2 favorite co-workers and friends. Tomorrow is going to be hard for the 3 of us. But I promised Leslie that on Thursdays I'd come eat lunch with her up here at the office b/c I don't have classes on Thursdays, so that's something to look forward too.
I'm ready to see all my UCA friends again. So many of them leave for the summer and I'm definitely ready to be able to see them and talk to them on a regular basis. And it's not just my closest college friends, I'm just ready to see a lot of people again, just people that you have connections with or maybe you've only talked to a few times...but I'm ready to just be walking through campus and hear my name shouted out from a familiar voice--that sounds corny, but I'm just ready to see everyone from friends to acquaintances!
I don't want to move out of my summer house. I love Whitney & Ben and even though I'll still see them and we'll still hang out, it won't be the same as living with Whit (which means seeing Ben all the time too). Who would have thought that in 2 and a half months I could've made 2 extremely close friends and shared so many fun memories with them...it definitely was an instant connection with them and we are so alike! I'm looking forward to doing more things with them throughout the upcoming semester and year!
My family came home from Wisconsin. They were there on vacation visiting family and having fun. The first time we were there my dad, brother, and me toured the Green Bay Packers field and hall of fame, which was awesome. Well no one brought me anything back this time around. But luckily my brother left a day later with my grandma (they flew b/c she has a bad back) so I was able to call him to bring me some Packers stuff. I'm so excited b/c he got home today and after I get off work, I'm heading over there. He was able to find me a Brett Favre jersey and a Packers t-shirt and a couple of pendants to put on my apartment walls. I'm so very excited about those new additions to my wardrobe!!!
Good Luck to all my friends who are moving off to college for the first time! You'll be fine and you'll have a blast! Good Luck to all my friends & brother, who are going to be SENIORS this year, that completely blows my mind!
Well, I'm out like a fat kid in baseball (I know it's normally dodgeball, but I like baseball better!)
