Review of Morning Report

I was pleased for find a review for Morning Report over at The Romance Studio.

Luke Murray is more in love with Simon now than he was when they first kissed ten years ago. They run the ranch for Luke's parents and keep a low profile so they can get along with the locals. One a day a new preacher comes to town and suddenly no one wants to do business with them and people they thought were friends no longer speak to them. Soon things begin to happen at the ranch and the couple is faced with the dilemma of whether they want to stay and stand up for themselves or give in to the town and run away.

This was a good book, which also brings to light that while we may have come far in the way we look at people who are not "like us", in many places things have not changed at all and people are still mistreated for being different. The author handles the subject matter well and even adds touches of humor throughout the story so it doesn't get too serious. The relationship between Luke and Simon is well written, and she brings across well the love they have for each other and how they handle the doubts and fears when faced with a situation that shakes them out of their complacency. I also liked very much the author's idea of the morning report, it is when the two men get together and go over the day to come and just have alone time, I was definitely envious, I wish I could have time like that with my husband every day. There are plenty romantic sexy m/m situations throughout the book, but they well written and fit in well with the rest of the story, even if I did find it hard to believe that people can have much sex, it might be fun to try. All in all a pleasant way to pass the time.

Overall rating: 4 hearts.
