SNOWDAY!!
I am soo excited. I feel like a little kid on Christmas. There's nothing like a surprise, guilt free day off when you work full time. And there are people in the 'hood to play with! And stores on the Drive will probably be open, since many workers are likely in walking or biking distance. Yet another example of why communities like this just work.
There are so many things I want to do, and it's still so early. I was so excited I couldn't even go back to sleep - except snowdays are for sleeping in! I guess for me they are for napping.
Yesterday my online class started. I'll have to get a big monitor soon and some more valid ways of backing up stuff, as I'll probably want to download a bunch of PDFs for class. I've been putting it off for $$ sake but I have to bite the bullet or my eyes might fall out.
One of the things I'm looking forward to most is having a leisurely breakfast and reading by the blue-hued daylight. I have a whole freaking day to myself. To everyone out there who can more or less set their own schedule (doesn't work 9-5)- be grateful! I would give anything for the ability to set my own schedule right now. In fact, it would probably be 9-5 ish anyways, I just need more flex time and less commuting.
And for me, I'm still grateful that most days aren't 'snowdays' around here.
Just joined 'couchsurfing.com' - a great travel network. Planning on meeting some kooks next time I head out on small or big trips.
