Clark and Lex are on their best behavior the entire trip. Clark is so proud of Lex for his manners and his constant smile despite some rude comments form cousin Jake, that the moment they're alone in the hallway, he rewards him. It helps that kissing Lex is its own reward in return.
The clearing of a throat breaks them apart and Clark back to find his father with his face averted. "If you two are done, great Aunt Helen wants some firewood brought in."

Then there's food piled eye on a 'table' pieced together from sawhorses and eight-foot long sheets of board. Everyone, all thirty-seven people, are required to say thanks for something before anyone can eat. Like every year, no matter where they are, Clark's parents both give thanks for him. He gives thanks to them and the family in return, then smiles at Lex and offers thanks for him as well.
Lex has to clear his throat before he can speak, and his hand tightens around Clark's. "I'm very thankful to be here today. With all of you."
There are still fifteen people to speak yet, but Clark can't wait until they're done and dinner is over. He tugs Lex close enough to kiss him, a scene that puts a full stop to the proceedings as Jake makes a comment and cousin Betsy calls him out and no one thinks to get them away from the table before the food starts flying.

Sitting on the truck's tailgate, sharing a sweet potato pie between the four of them, Lex and the Kents watch as people file past and get into their vehicles to head home or to hotels for the night. Few are unscatched from the food fight and many leave with the gravy still dripping from their hair. Having been part of the first group to arrive, they're stuck there until the truck is unpenned by other vehicles.
Jonathon looks over at where Clark and Lex are pressed together from shoulder to knee. They aren't kissing and they aren't holding hands, but they might as well be for all the attention they're paying the rest of the world.
He looks at Martha and finds her looking at them as well, her eyes soft and her bottom lip caught between her teeth. It's enough that he doesn't say anything, though he'll be able to say honestly that they've never had a holiday like this one.
It's a little worrisome to think about spending Christmas at the mansion with the Luthors, even though he's agreed to go.

You also apparently have a food fight fetish ;-)

And my writing fetishes are many. ^__^ Also, food fights are fun for the way that they give you a perfectly natural, innocent way of getting dirty... so that I can also think about the dirty, sexy ways they get clean.
Well... not necessarily all the relatives or the elder Kents.
