I once promised myself that any post, once posted, could not be removed. I can lock it and I can undo commenting, but it stays. Otherwise, I'd kill the previous whiny flail that took up this space.. I'm going to cover it up, instead. With links of awesome.
Or not so awesome. Perhaps, the better title would be "Links of Distraction: Not to be Confused with Golf."
Games
I love games, all types of games. But I especially like free games.
1)
Loop the City,
Walls Logic, and
Field Separation are all similar types of games. If you can figure out one of them, you can figure out the other two.
2) Silly and pointless,
Pool Geometry 2 is still an amusing pasttime. I liked it better than the first, but that's not saying much.
3)
Spectrum Genesis 4)
Under Pressure 5) One of the many online
Sudoku sites. Lots of puzzles, of course, but it also keeps stats on how long it takes to complete.
6)
Maple Story is free. And it's fun to play without paying a penny, though there is always the option of buying various things. The big downside to this is, unlike all of the games above, there are constant downloads to keep the game going. I still like it a lot, however.
And now, some non-games
7) I happened across this by accident (or by providence). As a resource for writers
Absolute Write forums is fantastic. It's also somewhat addicting and time-consuming, the way all internet sites can be, because of the sheer wealth of knowledge, advice, and amusement it offers. Plus, there are games.
8)
Questionable Content was not the first webcomic I found, but its the one I've been reading the longest. I check it on average once a day. Sometime I'll miss a day or two, or even a week, but I'll also sometimes reread old storylines. There's a lot to digest, if you aren't a reader already, but it's pretty fun.
9) Similarly, I fell in love two summer's ago with
Dominic Deegan. Alas, I haven't kept up on it. I got behind at Christmas 2008, at a time when the artist was still posting 7 comics a week (on average. :D) The 'current' storyline at that time didn't grab my attention and I never did get caught back up. But the older storylines? I still love them and reread them, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes epic fantasy.
And there are a ton more, but I've already distracted myself in chasing down some of the above links. It's time for lunch and writing. And music (Oh, the music! *considers* I could move all this junk down and put music at the top... or. ^__^ I'll just create a new post. Hee).

The below was the original post. The above was my spastic editing five minutes (or less) after sending the post into the world. As a demonstration of how quickly my mind jumps around? It succeeds admirably. That's about all it does. :D

Guys, I think I broke my ficbrain. Not the one used for writing longer stories, but the one I use for comment!fic.
I have tried three times in the past two days to write another piece of comment fic.
1) Twice, I made an attempt to write a fic using a comment from
nonotthatone about being punished. I failed. Then I had this great mental image from a comment she made about Thanksgiving travel = nightmare. And that one failed.
2) There was going to be another fic bit with the Give or Take/Back and forth. And while the first one worked out, vaguely, the second one refused to go at all.
3) Since the last bit of comment!fic (written yesterday and posted a couple of hours later, when I couldn't settle on how to continue it), I haven't finished any of the multiple comment!fics I've started.
It feels weird. It's all crack and it's normally so easy. And, I don't know why.
Oh, wait. It might have something to do with Clexmas being due.
And Sue needing a nap.
Also, possibly, there is this fantastic little Smallville kink meme going on over at
sv_kink that I might want to participate in. Maybe.
I'm sorry, what was I whining about again?
Right. Nap.
