Celebrating Ten (Picspam) #1: Children in Need 2005

Nov 17, 2009 20:38

This isn't exactly an original idea, but I wanted to do it anyway. I was just wondering when to start, and finally decided, "what the hell". So here is the first of my one-a-day picspams celebrating Ten, episode by episode. At the end of each, I will include my favorite quotes from that episode. I plan to keep going all the way through The End of Time, which by the time I get to it will have aired and been capped. I think.

I probably won't be adding in too many comments, witty or otherwise. It just depends on when or if the whim hits me.

The bulk of the images I've used are from the now-defunct time-and-space.co.uk (RIP), with a few from the following as well:

The Medusa Cascade
Sonic Biro

So here goes, starting with the end of The Parting of the Ways, into the Children in Need 2005 special:

First, the regeneration...

Looks a bit confused, doesn't he?

Ah, the first light-up-the-room grin...

And this one.

Love his expressions during this bit.

Don't you love how his hair stands up as if he visited a salon and got gelled up in the middle of regenerating?

The discovery of the mole...

Don't think I've ever seen anybody so happy about having a mole.

I love this bit, where he's trying to convince Rose he really is the Doctor.

And the gentle, joyous grin when she finally says "Doctor"...

And then after that it's loony-tunes Doctor time...

Favorite quotes:

(The Tenth Doctor's first words)
The Doctor: Hello! Okay-- (gulp; pause while he runs his tongue around his teeth) New teeth. That's weird. So where was I? Oh, that's right! Barcelona! (grins)

The Doctor: Now then, what do I look like? No, no no, no no no no no no no. No. Don't tell me. Let's see... two legs, two arms, two hands... (circles his wrist) Slight weakness in the dorsal tubercle. (feels his hair) Hair! I'm not bald! Oh, big hair! (feels his sideburns. Delightedly) Sideburns! I've got sideburns! Or really bad skin. Little bit thinner... (slaps his stomach) That's weird. Give me time, I'll get used to it. (feels his back) I... have got... a mole. I can feel it. Between my shoulder blades, there's a mole. (He grins.) That's all right. Love the mole.

(The Doctor offers to take Rose back home.)
The Doctor: Up to you. Back to your mum... it's all waiting. Fish and chips, sausage and mash, beans on toast -- no, Christmas! Turkey! Although... having met your mother... nut loaf would be more appropriate. (As Rose tries to hide a smile) Was that a smile?
Rose: No.
The Doctor: That was a smile.
Rose: (straight-faced) No, it wasn't.
The Doctor: You smiled.
Rose: No, I didn't.
