This is a gorge on the Rangitikei River. As part of the LOTR tour, we went on a rafting trip there: six hours of rafting to see a spot that was on film for maybe three seconds! This wasn't that spot, though. (This was one of four different rivers that "played" the Anduin, BTW.)
