I've got another mouse. This is getting sooooooooo old. Don't they know it's winter. Aren't they supposed to shrivel up and die outside somewhere? How dare they come in and invade my space. I don't go outside and invade their space. [/mouse tantrum]
Tonight as I was standing in the rodent catching and trapping devices aisle in Wal-Mart, I decided to try something new. It's an ultrasonic sound emitter thingy. I don't remember what it's really called and the package is all the way downstairs. Anyway, you plug these things into a regular electrical outlet and they emit frequencies that the human ear and most dogs and cats can't hear; but apparently mice, rats, spiders, and ants can hear them. I didn't know spiders and ants had ears, but if it gets rid of them too .... BONUS!!
I plugged one in in my kitchen since they seem to enjoy hanging out under my stove and in the bottom of my pantry. I had a vision as I was plugging this thing in of all these mice stumbling out from under the stove and pantry covering their ears. So, I plugged it in and ran upstairs. I didn't want to see all the drunken-like mice stumbling out onto the floor where I could see them. The hope is that they will all just run away from the sound and leave my house completely. Only thing I don't like about them so far is that they make a ticking noise. I guess that's so we mere mortals without ultrasonic hearing can tell that they're working. Here's hoping that it does work! Knowing my luck I probably have mutated mice that enjoy the torture of ultrasonic bursts of sound, and then he'll call all his friends and have a big party in the middle of my kitchen floor. Joy.
I'm sleepy. Going to bed now. Here's hoping tomorrow will be better than today.
