Bell Canada Throttling "Last Mile"

Apr 16, 2008 13:46

It really fries my biscuits when major corporations try to use established infrastructure as a way to intimidate consumers.

A) Net Neutrality & Throttling are two very different things.

B) According to the Bell Canada ACT of 1987, Bell Canada cannot do whatever they want with the last mile connections. Anything Bell says to that affect is bullshit. The Crown (tax payers) foot the bill through property superiority, grants and market monopolies. We paid for infrastructure development with a clear and defined set of conditions for which Bell is now clearly in violation.

C) Bell Canada is using it's last mile monopoly against the terms and conditions of the Bell Canada Act to muscle out competition with its simpatico service.

I direct you to the Bell Canada Act of 1987. Better yet I suggest you read a prominent IT blog which nicely sums up the situation regarding Bell and their looming anti-trust suit.
