so, does anyone else have an opion on the whole 'brokeback mountain' craze that's been going on? i was reading my entertainment weekly and they have predicted that it will basically sweep the oscars. i hope not. i guess i'm just upset that the only movies about gay rights to get recognized as "good", have a perfectly straight casts. it's overly obvious that no one in the movie is gay, or ever will be. does america glorify this because it puts the idea of people being gay at a safe distance? like: "we're willing to support a gay rights movie- as long as nothing about it is gay." i don't know. the more i've thought about it- the more frustrated i've become. why didn't they bother to get gay actors? or at least one- not pick the 2 most straight heart throbs out there? just food for thought...
