As disappointed as I am that Benedict didn't win for best actor, I am still incredibly thrilled for Martin and Sherlock's win, and most of all, for the awesome heartwarming interviews those two gave.
Well, fortunately, it was really easy. Because the thing is, with chemistry, you can’t manufacture it, and you can’t make it. Either it happens or it doesn’t happen. And I think from the moment that Ben and I got in a room together just to rehearse, or just to *read* actually, it seemed to work. I’ve always been a big admirer of his work, and I hope it’s reciprocated. I think it was. And he’s really really good. You know, if ever there was a person born to play the part, it’s him. And you know, when he’s on fire, it’s quite a formidable sight to see. I sort of stand back and just watch him when I’m in scenes with him and go ‘Wow, he’s really really good.’ So, yeah, it’s a pleasure for me.
- Martin Freeman, talking about chemistry and working with Benedict
It is a double act, and [Martin Freeman] he’s my wingman and he’s just phenomenal, and he’s a joy to work with. In no small way, he keeps me afloat and happy during the day as well. And he’s just a brilliant presence to be around. He’s just a scream. And we adore each other. In a very *platonic*, non… you know...
- Benedict Cumberbatch, on Martin Freeman.
WHY SO ADORABLE YOU TWO.
