(no subject)
so i go into the garage to tell my dad that we have a cucumber that is ready. and he's listening to some moron spout off on the radio and he starts saying, this guy gave me a great idea the other day...
so i guess this girl had called in and said that she had like $80,000 in student loans to pay and she was wondering if there was something in particular she should do to get them paid. and i guess he basically yelled at her and told her that she was an idiot for going to such an expensive school (as if she didn't already feel completely stupid and frankly a bit guilty for a moronic decision she made FOUR YEARS AGO, a decision she made before she was even old enough to vote!!!!) so he said well what she should do is essentially starve herself, not buy anything that isn't 150% essential and pay it all off in 4 years.
so my dad says, well i think he was right and you should probably do that.
i was of course outraged. FIRST - my dad has no clue what clothing of any sort costs, he doesn't shop and my mom does her best to hide clothing receipts add to that the fact that i have a fucking ghetto booty and it makes it next to impossible to find clothes that look nice enough for work without costing an arm and a leg. then think about the unwritten requirements on women and clothing...i'm sorry if you wear the same outfit once a week...you get looks and comments and it just makes you look bad. so it's important to have nice clothes and a variety of them that aren't four years old and thread bare.
SECOND - pretty sure i already covered the fact that i will be paying at 23 for a decision i made when i was 17, and was THANKS TO DADDY not allowed to modify when i came to my senses.
THIRD - what good is it to be debt free if you are miserable?
FOURTH - WHY WON'T HE GET OVER THE FACT THAT I AM MOVING OUT AND HOPING NOT TO HAVE TO MOVE BACK!!!!!!?
