It was dark outside. Prince Tatsuya was sneaking through the castle with a torch in his hand, past the guards. An hour ago he gave them a sleeping drug as he offered them to drink something. In the dungeon, in a cell, there was a king. Not the king of his country, but the king of his heart. Tatsuya wanted to see him.
After he told his father the day before king Junno was put in the cell, his father thought Junno had foreced Tatsuya to think in this manner. That Junno did horrible things to his only son, and no matter who hard Tatsuya had tried to tell him otherwise, king Koki wouldn't listen.
"I can see with my own eyes how scared you are" He said.
But Tatsuya wasn't scared of Junno. He was only affraid he might lose him.
Being in a cell in the castle meant only one thing and Tatsuya knew it. It meant he was going to lose his king. But he couldn't let that happen. Therefore he decided to drug the guards and sneak into the dungeon.
Tatsuya looked through the bars to the restless form in the corner of the dark cell. Only a little bit of moonlight came in through a crack in the wall. Junnos hair was hanging messy around his face. The white blouse that he was wearing was torn open. When the young king heard a noise from the bars he hid his face behind his arms awaiting more torture.
But torture didn't come.
"Junno" Tatsuya whispered as he walked towards the boy in the corner. Junno look up to him, suprised.
"You shouldn't be here" Junno said alarmed. Tatsuya put out his torch and sat down next to the king.
"How can I not be here" He replied.
There was a silence between them. Both of them knew that if nothing changed, this was their last time together. But Tatsya had a plan.
"Junno" Tatsuya said again.
"Marry one of my sisters instead. I know its not me, and I don't like it either, but at least you'll still be alive" He continued.
"I dont think I can live without seeing your smile" Tatsuya admitted.
"Then how can you ask me to do such a thing?" Junno asked him.
"You should know what I mean. If I cant be with you, I'd rather not be at all" The king had given up on life without the prince.
Tatsuya laid his arms around Junnos shoulders and pressed his head closer to his chest. He wanted to hear this heartbeat forever. Close to him. Feel Junnos breather on his skin whenever he woke up and every time he want to sleep. He looked up at the shining eyes of his lover and as the brown eyes looked back at him, a tear came down from his own.
Junno leaned into Tatsuya and kissed the tear away. Then his soft lips found his own and they shared a kiss. Soft at first, but soon enough it became more passionate and deep. Junno pulled Tatsuya in his back slowely. His hair falling over the princes face as they kissed. His chest just above Tatsuya, who only wore thin veils as a border between them. That night they slept together in the cell.
It was almost dawn when Tatsuya woke up again. They had to think of something fast. Junno who also woke up had only two hours left until his life would be ended. Tatsuya and he decided they'de have to escape to Iden. Junno needed his sword and Tatsuya sneaked out to get it.
By the time Tatsuya returned to the cell, Junno being escorted to the squeare in their garden for prosecution.
Quickly, Tatsuya threw him his sword and as soon as Junno caught it, he started fighting the guards. When both of them were wounded badly, Tatsuya also grabbed his own sword and the ran through the garden. King Koki was just behind them when they fled through the gates of the castle.
The gardner who had known about them all along, closed the gates before the king could pass, but Koki killed him with one stab of his sword and reopened the gates. Junno graabed Tatsuyas hand and they fled towards the forest.
Arriving at Yokoyamas old house, they stayed there for 2 days and night, making sure the king didn't still search for them. Then they rode of to Iden.
Arriving at the colourful gates of his citadel, Junno was happy once more. Tatsuya, who had never been out of his own land felt like he found a place to fit in. Here his colours didn't stand out to much. They appraoched the guards with a smile
"Prince Junno" One of the guards said eventhough Junno was now the king.
"By order of your brother Kazuya, king of Iden, I can not let you enter this gate."
