Prince Junnos mind wonders and roams over the girl in the veils. Apart from her noone stood out. He decides he needs to find her again. Why did she run away though?
Junno walks to the fountain the next morning and waits for hours. There was no sign of the girl. Not a hint of anything colourful for that matter. He decided it may be better to search while walking through the citadel.
The citadel of Barren was a large citadel, full of grey houses and stores. The main roads were always crowded with people dressed in grey t-shirts, while the smaller roads were ususally empty. The biggest road was the one that started at the fountain all the way up to the castle. But Junno didn't have to go to the castle, because the princesses didnt interest him. He started to walk the smaller roads.
He looked around for quite some time. The people of Barren were starting to prepare for diner. Junno saw something red in the corner of his eyes. Was it? He turned around, only to find out it was a book in the window of the bookstore.
Well at least the book had colours, the prince thought.
But he was dissappointed that he couldn't find the girl.
He decided to call it a night when the lights on the streets switched on. Most people around that time would go inside their houses. It was the best way to walk over the big road now, without riscing to get lost
Junno reached the castle gates one more, but stood still.
In front of the gate was one of the princesses.
And the girl in the veils.
The prince moved closer, wondering what they were saying, and he noticed the girl was being scolded.
"You shouldn't wear such bright colours, what if someone sees you?" The princess said.
"Did anyone see you?" She asked the veiled girl.
The latter one only nodded as the gates opend in front of them.
"Come inside, father will not be happy"
Junno sneaked behind them, hiding behind the bushes, or branchs, with thorns as he walked in the castle garden.
The front door opened and they walked in, Junno just a couple of steps behind them.
Inside the castle everything was black and grey. There were stairs big enough to support an elephant in the wallway. Junno sneaked his way further into the castle. Some servant walked in his direction. He had to hide. Quickly he opened the nearest door and found himself in a bedroom. Luckily, an empty one.
On the other side of the room there was a large dark wooden door. He could hear voices coming from the other side.
"Where is my son?" He heard someone say.
That must be the king. King Koki of Barren.
Junno opend the door a little bit and watched the king and his two daughters sitting on thrones in a large hall.
Another door to the hall opened and the veiled girl was brought in.
"There you are" The king said.
Junno was confused. What does the king want from this girl? And who is this son of his?
"You, Tatsuya, are my only son, and I will not tolerate this behaviour" The king yelled at the girl.
Son? Junno couldn't believe it.
The girl in the veils was the prince of Barren?
No.
That was impossible. Junno could not like a boy. Let alone the prince.
He ran out of the castle, through the garden and grabs his horse as he reached the fountain.
In the dead of the night he fled to the forest as he couldn't bare the idea of loving someone he'd never have . . .
