Caution: Radioactive

I got to gear up in full biohazard gear complete with full face-mask respirator and take a tour to see how uranium powder is made back in DCP (Dry Conversion Process). We got really up close and personal with the stuff... and then I took a 3 hour training class and now am certified to put on my own hazmat suit and go into all hot zones on GE without an escort ^___________^

The interns call DCP and the other half of the building Area 51.

Other than that, I started my project today. Which is optimizing the homogenizers on all 3 lines by determining what are the 3 biggest causes of down time and how to go about tackling them. This basically means 2-3 days of sorting through files, spreadsheets, and filed complaints and creating a chart of the most frequent problems.

Though 7:45 meetings are making me exceedingly sleepy.
