This is a fantastic insight, thank you. I do tend to use crop a lot, mostly because I'm lazy, lmao, but I'm interested in testing this out, just to see the difference.
Let me know if it works for you! I find that not using crop and just bringing the larger image into a forced frame allows me to fiddle with my crop more often without undoing a lot of work.

A lot of the things I make are trial and error, sometimes they don't work out how I want at all, sometimes they do. It depends on the source material too. HQ photoshoots are a completely different bag than tv/movie screencaps.
