So mylengrave asked how I go about resizing my images for icons and keeping details.

Under the cut is a lot of me rambling with very few pictures. Lots of telling. Not a lot of showing.

This is a fantastic insight, thank you. I do tend to use crop a lot, mostly because I'm lazy, lmao, but I'm interested in testing this out, just to see the difference.

Let me know if it works for you!
I find that not using crop and just bringing the larger image into a forced frame allows me to fiddle with my crop more often without undoing a lot of work.

I wasn't quite sure what exactly you're having difficulties with specifically.

A lot of the things I make are trial and error, sometimes they don't work out how I want at all, sometimes they do. It depends on the source material too. HQ photoshoots are a completely different bag than tv/movie screencaps.
