Oh, and I shall just say that I ADORED Cribbins in 'End of Time'. Awesome, awesome. I now know where Donna gets it from. His dance moves had me in stitches. 'Bigger on the inside. Do you like it?' - 'I thought it'd be cleaner...'. And the scene in the cafe was brilliant - oh, don't you dare kill off Wilf, Davies. I shall hunt you down...
I didn't think much of Donna's fiancee, though, and she herself was pretty floppy.
And the Time Lords have returned, along with their awesomely awesome dress sense! How crazily good is that? I may have been bouncing up and down in excitement by that point...But, all the same, WTF were they doing there? What was that all about?
RTD, a good writer you can be, but you do take the biscuit regarding your 'this is daft and batshit insane, why on earth did you do that' moments. It feels like he desperately wanted something big and OTT, and thought damn, used up all those old characters - ooh, wait, lemmesee, haven't had those guys with the craaaazy headdresses on in a while, howaboutit? And the Master, while all lovely and mad, was again utterly over the top. At the time, I quite enjoyed his parkour stunts, but on replaying, realised he looked more like something out of 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', and that just ain't right. The whole episode was just not believable.
So now I am crossing my fingers that all of this was just RTD manipulation, and the New Year's Day finale will be epic, and erase all my quibbles about this episode (which I did love, regardless). All I can say is 'It had better damn well be good'.
