Oh goodness, this fanmix has been sitting on my computer nearly finished since March. March! Sorry I’m ridiculous for holding on to it for so long, I just wasn’t 100% happy with it (mainly is was the Mockingjay part of the mix that was giving me the most trouble) but after some tweaking and replacements I’m finally ready to let this mix see the light of day! I’ve split the mix in into three different post since I didn’t want to overwhelm anyone with a 48 track mix (Even though I’ve done close to that before, haha!) In Our Talons is one of the few mixes I’ve made over the years that follows the overall story, instead of a specific character or pairing. Of course, Katniss’ voice is the most prominent on the mix, but others voices can be heard as well. One of the last minute changes on this mix was a switch to the Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti version of “Falling Slowly”, which I love because the ensemble of voices that join in half-way turn a track that starts as Peeta’s love song to Katniss into a song also about the capital citizen’s investment in the story of the “star-crossed lovers of district 12”.
