I just saw Blood Diamond. Go see it. NOW.
Ever since the whole Titanic thing I've had a general dislike for the man (he is 32, which surprised me). It really doesn't have anything to do with his capacity to perform, but wanting to stay away from the hype. Pre-teens and teens were obsessed with him when I was in middle school. It was insane, and I don't like that kind of hype about a particular real individual. I find it weird and creepy the way we let the paparazzi do the stalking for us. I’m more interested in the work people do than their personal life.
Anyway, go see Blood Diamond because it’s amazing. The acting is great, the directing is great, the cinematography is amazing, the sets and wardrobe/costumes were amazing, the script and story were very balanced, AND it actually had a point beyond a good story. It was quite informative as well (as far as Hollywood films go). Oh yeah, and did I mention Dicaprio was sexy as all get out?
