"Okay, kid, this is where it gets complicated."
Amy Pond
Oh, jeez, okay. As anyone who's been around for a while may have noticed, I have quite a lot of feelings about Amy. I will attempt to condense them.
SO. Part of the reason that I love her so much is because of the ways I connect with her. The obvious things - we're the same age, we have the same name. (From the moment we heard we were getting a companion called Amy I was SO EXCITED. I have a THEME! The Doctor shouts my name a lot! It's awesome.) And I was an only child in a big, lonely house living somewhere that didn't feel like home, not speaking or thinking like the people around me and dreaming of fairytales. The Eleventh Hour really spoke to me, therefore, and the last ten minutes, with that BEAUTIFUL end scene between Eleven and Amy, still makes me cry.
Then she floated amongst the stars and fought angels and loved and lost and loved again, saw the light of the universe with Van Gogh, and dreamed the whole of reality back to the life because she's had the universe running through her head her whole life. She rejects either/or choices and always chooses option number three. She's impulsive to a fault and struggles with expressing feelings and has trust issues and is afraid of commitment. She's funny and kind and brave and has a big, big heart, and I really love her, is what I'm saying.
