After much anticipation, according to
MSN Movies experts say that the movie hasn't done as well as expected. It could possibly be due to Halloween landing on a Saturday. Since its release the "This Is It" has ranked in only in North America about $19 million since the global premiere on Tuesday night.
Around the world the movie is said to be doing much better, and on its release day of Tuesday night, it ranked in about $12.7 million. “This Is It,” was expected to rank in low $30 million, Sony Music expected to
about $35-40 million, by the end of the week.
Critics are praising the film, and giving it a good word of mouth. "It's a moment that illuminates not just the way Jackson danced or sang, but how he thought -- viewing the world in terms of movement, human semaphore,"

Another reason the movie may have not been have not gone to see the movie, was due to presales selling out, and a misunderstanding of the ticket presales.
