The long goodbye.... when your TV show calls it a day.

Today they announced that this, the ninth, season of The Office will be its last. Over the next eight months I'll be saying goodbye to a show that I have loved quietly, though just as deeply as those I've loudly fangirled over.

I was introduced to this series in season 2 by LJ friends juteux and wordsalone and have been a devoted fan ever since. I've seen OTPs come together, and watched some drift apart. I've laughed so much it hurts, and there have even been a few tears (of the sentimental kind).

They say this final season will draw fitting conclusions to the stories that have played out over the seasons, so I'm going to throw my wish list out for prosperity....
Dwight and Angela - together, happy, and a little less dysfunctional (Both have mellowed enough to make this possible, I think)
Oscar to find someone... Perhaps the senator, perhaps not, but he deserves a great romance. (Whatever happened to the cutie in the warehouse?)
Ryan and Kelly to put the final nail in that relationship coffin.
Andy and Erin to show some good relationship development and then hold it together so I'm left with a happily ever after feeling come the final episode.
And lastly, for the rest of the gang to keep on doing what they do, because they seriously made last season a delightful ensemble TV experience, and I can't wait for more.

I'm going to savour every last moment I get with the Dunder Mifflin family, but when season nine is done, I'm going to miss them like crazy.
