So, I went in for the scheduled induction on Wednesday night. As of 1:40pm Thursday afternoon we have a new addition to the world. Jebidiah Sam Haverkamp II. Yes, the II not Jr. lol Daddy didn't like Jr. As of right now the cute little bugger is sleeping in my lap. He isn't too sure about the crib just yet I think.
Anyway. Labor and Delivery were ok. Thank gods for modern medicine and DRUGS!!! I had been having contractions randomly for a couple of days before and then when they gave me the meds to make me have them regular they weren't too bad. Problems with pain management happened when he started to descend and put me into back labor cuz he was facing the wrong way. Of course when I went into back labor that was it for the Herculean effort. I cried and begged for drugs. The first thing they tried was demerol or something and that just made me puke, so I got the epidural. Numbness from the waist down is very nice in a case like that. I dialated from 2cm to 8cm in 2 hours and the rest of the way in 1 hour. Will you believe it, I slept through it or was in a drug induced haze for that 3 hours.
So, the nurse comes in to check me and I am ready and he's still facing backwards. She had to turn him around. After she turned him the doctor came in and had me start pushing. That was at 1pm. I couldn't feel the contractions though, so the nurse had to tell me when to push. I could feel pressure at that point, I think the drugs were wearing off. And just like textbook, once I delivered his head, the rest just popped out easy-peasy. Gorgeous little baby, just as his Daddy put it, he looked like Smeagol when he first came out. I wouldn't know, I saw him after they cleaned him up a bit.
We are now home, so if you decide you want to come by, please call first. I've had alot of familial company and I'm running out of steam. I would hate for you to drop by just to be told "Fuckoff! Go away" lol
And as soon as I can, I will have pics.
