There had been some question, the last time I posted about
this writing program about whether you can use it on all of your computers - for instance, on your laptop and your desktop.
The answer is yes.
Their Web site says, "Scrivener comes with a
generous "household" licence. This allows you to install Scrivener on multiple computers (of the same platform, so a Mac licence will not work on Windows, and vice versa) provided that you are the primary user or owner, and on any machines owned by members of your immediate family residing in your household."
I have been using it rather extensively, taking advantage of the corkboard and organization functions of the program, as I world-build for my o-fic project, and my free trial is running out. I wanted to be sure I could put it on my laptop and go between the two machines with my trusty Tazmanian Devil thumb-drive (Thank you,
annietalbot!) and not miss a step.
I am so impatient at the beginning of a new project, wanting to plunge into it and begin pounding out werdz. But the truth of the matter is, a story has to grow in my mind (and in my heart). It has to send tendrils into the soil of my consciousness and take root. So I experiment with my ever-important play-list and try to limit my listening to audio books on my commute. If I hit the open road with the music in my ears, the story will grow. I don't know why I have to re-learn this lesson every time.
So, my hero is (surprisingly, I'm sure) very Snape-ish. I'm looking for songs by angry young men about feeling unwanted, unloved, disenfranchised, and generally left out. If you know of any, please tell me!
