Sub Update

I haven't posted in forever! So here's an update. :)

All through November, I had a steadily more uncomfortable all-over body itching. I saw my diabetes doctor, then an ER doctor, and finally made an appointment to see a dermatologist. The diagnosis?

Dry skin.

REALLY? Seriously? I had hoped for a magic pill, but there isn't one. Instead, I must do an all-over moisturizing twice a day with a prescription moisturizer; I have an analgesic that's supposed to treat the burning and itching, and I'm taking two antihistamines, one of which knocks me flat on my ass for 8 hours at a time. for the most part, the itch is now bearable, even if the treatment is time consuming. I never knew how much itching could make a person miserable. Geeze.

Then the boss announced he had to leave town for two weeks (illness in the family, then Christmas), and I'm doing all his job and mine too - stuff I've done in the past, but not for over a year, so I'm kinda out of practice. So I'm working 12 hour days AND fighting the itch from hell AND helping SubHub get ready for Christmas.

Tomorrow we host the family for the annual tree decoration and cookie baking night. On Christmas Eve we'll have them back for dinner and gift exchange. I'm very much looking forward to having them here; i do SO love Christmas.

And the Beetle will be here! I know I haven't posted pictures of him in a while, but he's SO cranky most of the time that we hardly can get a smile from him. The pediatrician has decreed that he needs to eat more, so he had his first simple cereal this week. We'll see how that helps his temperament.

SubHub has been such a champion these last couple of months, looking after me and making the holiday plans and carrying them out. I can't tell you much much I adore him right now.

I hope your holiday plans (if you celebrate) are coming along well and you're enjoying the change of seasons. We've finally had to turn our heater on! :)

Okay, I'm off to sleep; several dozen cut-out Christmas cookies need baking before the family can decorate 'em, so I need my rest.

Note: Am typing this in bed on the laptop and I know I've got some typos; please forgive my laziness!
