Seeing as this is not one of the links that I usually use when I am on the internet I rarely update this thing anymore...
(break for dinner)
Back...
Kathy cooked un-steak fajitas for dinner tonight and they were delicious. Mock-steak, potatoes, onions, peppers, rice, cheddar and sour cream. She is a really incredible cook. I've taken to drinking a beer or two in the wind-down period after school and the stuff is really growing on me. Lone Star is my number one, cheap and light. I purchased some ZiegenBock and it's alright. Feels right.
We've been getting out, downtown and out of town. Two weeks ago we visited New Braunfels and snooped around town. Historic Gruene has the oldest dance hall in Texas and we were fortunate enough to catch
The White Ghost Shivers and shoot some pool and some breeze. We bought some pumpkin apple butter at a shop as well, haven't cracked that open yet.
We recieved a Magic Bullet for Christmas and it came forwarded in the mail ala famalia... My first attempt at a smoothie was looking promising but alas, I did not screw the blending apparatus tight enough and upon lifting our banana-mango-berry drink ended up everywhere. Upsetting to say the least. To make up for my folly I made a huge milkshake and got the shits.
Last weekend we went east to Houston to see my Aunt Jo, who was in town for big oil business. We got out to the
Alamo Drafthouse in town and saw National Treasure II. I was under too many blue moons by the end of the movie and kinda of sleepy/drunk. We'll just say the movie was rediculous. The pizza was delicious though. On Sunday we went over to the
Menil Gallery and shopped around for a few Picassos. I like his newer stuff, really. Other notable sites...
Roethko Chapel, the
Cy Twombly Gallery and the
Houston Museum of Natural Science Short visit, but totally worth it. I love driving and my car loves me.
Yesterday,
Neel and I play some pool at
Buffalo Billards, where I made some nice shots, but got hustled, then met up with Kathy to see "There Will Be Blood." Pretty incredible, I really dug the soundtrack.
As far as everything else, I'm still successfully teaching children the
ABCs Our program rules. Looking forward to the weekend. Friday, there is a party where we can get loose, Saturday, we're heading up to Temple and Sunday, we'll be keeping it real in Taylor. Viva la Railroad...
Love to whomever has stumbled onto this,
Charlie
