I don't have much to write. The weather recently has been pretty poor, so I can blame any laziness or bad moodieness on that. Yesterday was wet and hot, today was wet and cold... I'm ready for snow or sun, or any combination of the two.
Tonight was the final party/class for the Adult ESL this semester. Although I was unsure at first and currently still a bit unsure about the help I could provide in such a short amount of time, I feel changed by the experience. In my head I have pictures of the 'tired, eager and excited' adult faces that I never want to forget. It takes an incredible amount of humility and desire to attend and participate in an Adult ESL English class. I used personality and my very limited Spanish to bridge the gap and create an enviroment where the students could be confident enough to try, fail, ask questions and self correct.
What a rediculous language we speak.
As far as the children I am helping during the daytime, I have seen awesome amounts of progress and am really excited to continue next semester. But I need the upcoming break to gather my senses, will and reassess the importance of my position in the program. Where initially I was sluggish and dragging, I am starting to get excited at the challenge of teaching something I take for granted...
