Weekend fun

Sep 15, 2008 10:51

This weekend started out with Friday night relaxation, Saturday morning yoga and college football all afternoon. So far, a good start other than stupid personal fouls resulting in a bad GT loss. Then, Sunday came and it got so much better.

I was scheduled for my first tennis lesson at 10:30, and Jen called (early in the morning, I might add) to say that she couldn't make it. Mark really wasn't interested in tennis AT ALL, and had previously made me aware of said disinterest; but when I needed a partner yesterday morning he stepped up and agreed to accompany me with the understanding that this was only a 1-time deal. Then, he found out that he LOVES tennis! He's never played before, but even the pro said that he was a natural. Both of us did surprisingly well for our first time, and can't wait to buy rackets and cute little outfits (at least me for the outfit part) before going back. I love how life works out!

Other than golf, this is the first time that Mark and I have found something active that we enjoy doing together. This is awesome! I love that we can exercise, have fun and compete all at the same time. Even better is that wilsonodk and ldysteph are going to start joining us! I think that Wilson's out of town next weekend, so it may just be Steph, but then they will both join us for group lessons. Way fun!!!

Tennis was followed by the first ever "Ladies D&D" game provided by our boys. There are 5 of us girls married to or dating geek boys that love them some role-playing. We wanted in on the action, so they made a game just for us! Of course, all of our characters (except for Steph who has been role-playing with boys for WAY too long) are very pretty with wonderful names and girly implements. 3 of the 5 ended up playing with pink dice, which was also pretty funny. The boys laid low by playing Illuminati downstairs, but were at the ready if we had any questions. Ultimately, I think a good time was had by all and I can't wait for our next game.

All-in-all, it was an awesome weekend! I love those!
