Instead of studying for my Criminal Law final...

Meme taken from, and requisite explanations for, urbpan.

Comment and I will give you 3 interests on your list, and 3 icons, for you to explain.

a softer world - A Softer World is a great example of the elbow room that "comics" get when they're published on the web. Once a week, Emily Horne takes a picture and Joey Comeau captions it, to hysterical (and often strangely moving) effect. Read through the archives, and you'll catch a fleeting glimpse of dark corners and muttered ramblings. They also have an LJ feed at softerworldfeed

suburban panic - Back in the mid-to-late 90s, before we'd ever heard of The Onion, some friends and I had a similar idea for a satiric newspaper called the Suburban Panic Underground. I registered the domain, and I've done very little with it since. It's sort of become a catchall for the electronic detritus of my life. My old college "journalism" is there, along with some audio documentaries I did for a Radio Production class. Over the years, I've cajoled friends and my wife into doing some writing, and that's there too. I've hosted wedding pics for faraway relatives, and sample mp3s when I was doing some sound design for a community theater in my hometown. You can even see the remains of the theater company my wife had in the works before she decided to go into medicine.
Since I've been in law school, it's continued to languish, especially since I've taken up Ask the Little Bald Bastard over at my old Blogger space. I keep renewing the domain and paying for the hosting mostly out of nostalgia these days. It occasionally serves me as photo hosting space, but I suppose I'll have to let it die one of these days.

ugly hill - Ugly Hill is another one of the webcomics I read. It's much more of a standard "comic strip," about life in the small town of Ugly Hill, with the wonderful conceit that all the characters are monsters. Coincidentally, I recently wrote a more extensive review on Ask LBB. Again, the LJ feed is uglyhill.

As urbpan pointed out, most of my icons are pictures of me, and are therefore self explanatory (evidence of my entirely undeserved sense of self-importance). If there are any that you're curious about, let me know, and I'll give you the disappointingly dull details. Meme away.
