the intelligent deign debate saddens me. especially because it got to this point. it shouldn't even be a question. i didn't just have to visit independance hall and look at a copy of the constitution to know there should be a distinct separation of church and state. if people want their kids to learn intelligent design, or; "the less believable notion that we were all created along with the universe about 5000 years ago by an all knowing all seeing being", they can send them to sunday school. it's the scopes monkey trial all over again.
and who is responsible for all of this? the same overweight oil guzzling midwesterners who are the constant victims of the most overly obvious internet scams. "you just win $50,000 in drawing in tibet. send us $4000 to cover the expenses and we are to be send you an chek!" so this is who pretty much runs the country.... it's so sad.
i can't begin to explain just how much this infuriates me. i have nothing against organized religions. they do good things as well as bad, just like every organization in the world, but why anyone thinks it's ok to force religion down our throats is rediculous. europe considers itself to be a "post christian society". we're so far behind the times. america is heading back to the 1950's in a hurry. big engined gass guzling cars, less civil liberties, a growing class distinction, the patriot act, which isn't much different than senator mccarthy chasing down the "Reds" which are now just the arabs, and any other undesirable terrorist group, (saudi arabians get a free pass) like liberals, homosexuals, and anyone who voted for nader. liberals used to be the proponents of civil liberties and fighting for the common man and making sure that shit like this doesn't happen, but now if you watch cspan for more than 3 minutes when congress is in session it makes you sick. maybe a representative from vermont or washington state will stand up and be outraged, but all the other liberals seem to have been brainwashed by the notion that we're going to get dirty bombed or infected with the plague at any minute by some guy with a beard, turban, or prayer rug. you can't have it both ways. if you want to turn this country in a god fearing, god worshipping "smile, your mother chose life" on a hummer H2 society, then you have to let the fanatical arabs do their own thing in their own country, because in essence there is no real differnce between the bullshit brainwashing here and the bullshit brainwashing there... i quit. i can't even rant any more. this sucks.
