Her smile widens a bit. “I have to admit, it felt good to do.”It felt good to read Cynthia having her moment! That John Lennon. What a huge ass! Well, it's not about him, but I've just got to say that I could imagine, a drunken John making a spec tale of such a thing. Since he actually turned up, I don't think he could've gone through with it all sober. He really did need that dressing down, and it means even more to me as a reader that it came from Cynthia. Showing John that she can no longer be cowed by him ( ... )

John in the late 60s can get away with being a complete ass as is. Add to that grieving (whether he admits it or not) and not being sober and yeah, that tendency is multiplied. And that dressing down really only could come from Cynthia. His hold on her is broken and she's becoming much more independent. It's empowering for her to do ( ... )

Yeah, your chapters have never been usually been long. Just enough for what you want to show. Which is your distinct style. It always leaves me wanting more, which works because it definitely keeps me coming back to read each installment.

I'm a bit pissed that Ringo's financial affairs didn't really set Maureen up for life. Which makes sense. They spent like there was no tomorrow, made bad financial decisions, and had bad financial decisions made on their behalf. Living the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but not wealthy on paper.

Looking forward to the roommate situation that'll unfold. And, of course, about who will eventually make the first 'move'. This sort of reminds me of the RP we did of Maureen and Pattie.

It's not that Maureen isn't necessarily set for life it's that she doesn't know. Ringo left his step-father in charge of his financial stuff and Harry's just guessing right then. Maureen's concern is that her boys are taken care of. Harry's assured her of that and that's all she needs. She wants to go back into her old work and forming a life outside of being the perpetual widow. So she's very much fine with knowing the boys are taken care of. She's working class at the core.

Maureen and Cynthia have a lot of good times and a lot of not-so-good times ahead and I can't wait to explore some of those.

I'm also curious about, how these two women from a very different generation from ours would deal with being in a lesbian relationship. From a lifetime of having men as their only romantic and sexual partners (to the best of our knowledge.). I wonder who would be the more comfortable of the pair about dipping their toe into those waters.

I am very curious about this as well, mostly because I don't believe the transition will be as difficult as anyone might think. I think this mostly because by 1969, both Cynthia and Maureen had lived some serious life so far as complete weirdness by just being married to Beatles. Add to this their separate fictional circumstances and especially Cynthia's different choices with her own life (that being committing herself to independence, and growing within herself enough to face John down!)... and we're left with a massive load of possibilities of relationship development between the two.

I can hardly wait.
