Oh, that's hellish! Such a beautiful building...

I take it the foundations have been totally undermined by the floodwaters and that it's going to have to be demolished?

We are so cavalier with our historic buildings - they still get knocked down willy nilly. You forget that they're very fragile, and prone to destruction from the elements and accidental loss.

It's funny that you can't see the picture, I wonder if it's because I let my paid account expire. The building is Guy Park Manor, if you Google it you might get results. I hope you realize I meant Amsterdam NY, not the Netherlands, right? LOL

Yup, I just don't get it. Now I see a box with a question mark in it where the photo should be when in the reply mode that shows all comments. Oh I just googled Guy Park Manor and realized you ment NY not Netherlands!
Wow, I just read about it in the NY times link, It sure did some serious damage. I hate seeing old buildings destroyed even more than new ones.
Oh I just remembered reading something on a LJ community post, that they did not want users for that community to use Photobucket and some other photo sharing sites because of a large volume of viewers on that community would cause the photos to disappear. Wonder if that's it or if it is my Internet provider which is Verizon. I can't get on The Pyramid Collection web site when other people can. Go figure.

Oh now your photo is there! I was sure it had loaded before. What a gorgeous old stone building. So sad.
