Trig: aside from all the class expectations stuff, we got a POW (due Mon.) and are doing assignments #1-3. So far we've been doing quadratic functions and parabolas... review, really. Also, cover your textbook (you don't need to carry that around). You can get notes from me later.
Chem: we retook that math test from the end of the year last year. We need to have an organized binder with five dividers. Two expectations/saftey rules sheets which need to be signed. And there's a quiz on the safety stuff on Friday.
Band: we didn't do much the first day. Then today we played this laaaame piece today called Fanfare for the NunChuks or something by Holsinger. There are, like, three short cool parts, but the beginning is horribly clichéd with the trumpet section soli in unison thingy. And there are NO RESTS. But the notes are relatively easy. Mr. D went over loads of expectations stuff, which was boring. Dave played with his hair.
French: we're starting the year out on fairy tales. We took a quiz on the second day of school to see what we remembered (not graded). And then we read this packet (in English) on the brothers Grimm and took a quiz today (graded) to see what we remembered from the reading. It was in English. Apparently the lab is under reconstruction for a few months. She didn't have time to give us homework today. We got a huge workbook that we have to lug around. And we have to lug around French dictionaries. She said we use the medium-big kinds.
So I think that's the gist of it. Good luck, feel better, take advantage of helpless teachers.
