I got an early birthday present today (really early) but I couldn't be more thrilled!!
Belle Azure stuff! I LOVE the colors, I could just die from girly happiness! Pictures of my ugly mug under the cut...
This is what it looks like when I try to take pics in the mirror. Too crappy, I guess I don't have enough light
These are all the same colors. MAC leisuretime, blue peep liner, frozen white (inner corners) some belle azure in the crease..I blended the fuck out of it cuz it looked off, and vanilla on the brow. Magnetique lipglass which I fucking love, and rose d'or bronzing stick with 100 degrees pearlizer over it. I think blue peep was overkill, but eh..we had fun.
Anyway, I went to volunteer at the domestic violence shelter today as it was my shift..and I had the engenious idea to throw a bunch of makeup and disposable applicators in a bag. (I really wanted an excuse to play with my new makeup) I asked the director if I could give the ladies little makeovers and she thought it was an excellent idea. We had so much fun! The women were more animated and happier than they ever are. This weekend I'm going back to give them haircuts and maybe a couple of color applications...I can put my cosmetology license to good use for a change. I really need some ideas if where I could ask for donations for health and beauty items. Low end, basic cosmetics is all they need..but it's shocking how little most of them have. They leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs in most cases. Someone suggested seeing if they can be listed with makeup alley..I don't know how that will work since the location of the shelter has to remain anonymous. I'll figure something out though, I think I already have a couple of people who are going to go through all their stuff and send their extras. There are only 12 women total..well one of them just had facial reconstructive surgery so she won't be needing cosmetics for a long time..it's horrible, I won't even go into that story it's so heartbreaking. I know it sounds shitty, but going there really makes me grateful for everything I have.
I know some of you have mad makeup skills so if you're looking for something to do..you might check with your local domestic violence shelter in order to do makeovers. They can really use the advice since they're trying to get back into the workplace and it makes them feel so good to be pampered a little bit. Most of us are really lucky, it could always be so much worse.
