i finally got to meet one of my dance idols from Japan, the amazing dancer/ choreographer/ instructor Koharu Sugawara! :D i am so so so happy to have had the opportunity to dance in the same studio and learn from such a humble person really. she's only 20 years old and have made such a name for herself yet she's really still just a kid at heart. and the three kids that came with her from Japan are super talented and equally humble and friendly, (from left to right) Sola is only 15, Mahina (i love her she is the cutest dancer ever! hehe) is only 11 and Rio is only 13!!!
she teaches with so much passion and love for dance. reckon the most important thing i took away from attending her dance workshop was that we dancers dance because we love dancing and must never forget that. at the start of class i was a little worried as the studio was filled with many familiar faces, of which ive known to be Singapore's own bunch of really good dancers. but over the hour Koharu kept stressing that it isnt about the steps but how we feel the music. her english is limited but im sure we all got what she meant. one of the best dance experience ive had yet. {:
