[ But he does notice that gesture, wondering for a bit, before deciding not to press him. Still... ]
Thank you-- that won't be necessary. [ He doesn't step away from the doorway though, as if not wanting to get any closer for fear of contaminating Phoenix. ]
I just wanted to hear the end of that song.
[ A small, wry smile appears on his lips as he loosely folds his arms, watching his friend in slight amusement at the situation. ]
[ He's looking knowingly at him, leaning against the frame and smirking just a bit ]
I wasn't born yesterday, Wright. You should be proud of your skill.
[ Yes, he had been suspecting Phoenix had better knowledge about playing than he was letting on, especially with the way he saw him play The Entertainer the other day. ]
I'd like you to continue. [ And after a moment's hesitation ] Please.
I took lessons for a few years, it's not really a skill.
[ But he finds it hard to say no to Edgeworth, so he plays. He's no amazing talent, but he's far more competent than he's ever let on and doesn't make any major mistakes, keeping tempo on. ]
The fact that you can tell that it's a nice piano says enough.
[ and he's about to say something when he looks like he's going to sneeze again and he quickly moves the hanky back over his nose and mouth-- and choo! ]
Hey. Hey. With a cold like that, you shouldn't be standing around.
[ It's not just that sneeze of course, it's his whole demeanor, how he's leaning in the door, everything. He knows Edgeworth well enough to tell something's very amiss. ]
[ And he sneezes thrice, his eyes burning as he keeps the handkerchief to cover his nose and mouth-- holding up his free hand. ]
I'm fine. I still have paperwork to finish up.
[ trying not to meet his gaze, he sniffs again, and lowers the handkerchief. They're not strong sneezes, but his eyes are looking puffy as well as his nose, which is pink. ]
I'm sure it can wait a day or two while you rest. When you're sick, you're not at your best, and you might not do your best work. We couldn't have Perfect Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth not doing his best.
[ And with that, he takes Edgeworth gently by the shoulders to guide him to his bedroom. ]
Maya's a good kid. I'm not surprised she's doing well. I have another friend who's looking for work who might look out for us - he's an android or something, so I guess he can do just about anything. For being a robot, he's a nicer and more honest guy than a lot I've known.
What are you doing over there...?
[ Mouth covered~ ]

[ And he totally wasn't fiddling around on the piano! Nope! He just set his network device there for some reason. He picks it up now. ]
I thought you were going to work. You sick?
Reply
I finished up early.
[ And here's looking suspiciously at Phoenix. ]
Why did you stop playing?
[ Hanky moved away, he tries his best to not sniffle, it's undignified after all. ]

[ Is he... embarrassed? He's rubbing the back of his neck. ]
Are you okay? You want me to make you some chicken soup or something?

Good work. I'm impressed.
[ And he sincerely means that, sniffing softly, before pulling himself away from the wall ]
With a little more practice, you could almost be as good as Machi.

I'm not that good, really. It's just a really nice piano, so, it makes it sound good.

Go lay down. I'll make you some tea.

But perhaps you should handle dinner tonight.

What kinda work? Anything I can help with?
You really gotta get as much rest as possible.

Mm. Thank you, Wright. [ He has to be sick if he's not protesting ] But it's just work for the café. I can handle it.
[ If Wright would just believe him... ]
Maya's working surprisingly well.
