Willy Wonka Bus Lines

So, there I am. Waiting for the bus with two serves of vegetarian flat rice noodles and a house guest. Bus arrives. Its the newer style of bus, slightly smaller and not as buslike. Obviously more fuel efficient, but without that "juggernaut of doom" quality older buses have.

We clamber in, converse amongst ourselves as the bus pulls out of the interchange and up Northbourne Avenue. As the bus is nearly at speed, I almost hear this noise, but it's so odd my rational brain censors it.

Bus stops to let passengers off. Bus accelerates again. Again with the bizarre unbuslike noise. Like something out of Willy Wonka.

"Did you hear that?" I enquire. My house guest is blissfully unaware. Again with the stop and accelerate cycle. Of course, now that I've pointed it out; it doesn't happen. Patience has it's reward though.

We hear the bus make a noise identical to a penny bunger. A loud sigh followed by a high pitched whizzing.

So, you heard it here first. Look for a wave of Public Transport mergers.

Willy Wonka Bus Lines. Now with peewee bunger power!
