Sex, Drugs and Klosterman
Something weird always happens to me when I read/listen to Chuck Klosterman books. I start to develop a strange hero-worship for him. Like, I'm literally convinced that he is the funniest/most observant/cleverest/most eloquent man on the planet. However, this is only true while I'm actually reading/listening to him. I think he's hilariously funny, very observant, clever and insanely eloquent, no matter if I'm reading him or not. But in the time I actually hold his books in my hand, I literally think he is the incarnation of cleverness and eloquence. And the weirdest thing about it is that the fact that I am fully aware of the fact that it is a) a complete overstatement and b) absolutely temporary doesn't change my hero-worship itself in the slightest.
In conclusion: Read Chuck Klosterman, he's funny, clever, eloquent and observant.

Gilmore Girls has been canceled. While I actively despised this season, actually didn't watch much of it at all, but it still makes me a tiny bit sad because I used to LOVE this show a lot. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sad that it's ending, because it has been getting worse and worse for at least the last 2 seasons. I'm rather sad about the fact that I'm not sad about it, because it reminds me of how uninterested I have become in this once-great show.

So... I don't know where to start. KEITH VERSUS ALCOHOL DUN DUN DUUUN was probably one of the most annoying thing in a long time. It was just all so pointless. First of all, and I've had this debate with many different people while I was in the states, if they would lower their legal drinking age to something somewhat reasonable, things like that would not happen! I'm not saying there are no alcohol-related accidents and deaths here, but if alcohol is not illegal, if people wouldn't need to sneak around and get fake ID's and what-not, then some of the kick would be gone. It would no longer be considered and "achievement" of a kind to get in anywhere and get drunk, because it would be legal.
The second issue I had with this storyline is that it is completely ridiculous to imply that the accident had been a) less sad and b) more or less his fault/ responsibility if the guy had been TWO YEARS OLDER! If you don't know not to stumble drunkenly on a street may get you run over by the time you're 19, you probably won't know it by the time you're 21 either.
And while that cop was definitely a jackass and deserved something, FIRING FOUR PEOPLE IS A LITTLE EXTREME!
And THEN there is the thing that pissed me off most about this storyline, which was the ZOMG LAMB WAS TEH EVIL!!!-part.
Look RT, we KNOW that he took bribes. We have seen him take bribes ONSCREEN AGES AGO! WE KNOW! Bringing it up now and treating it like a huge shocking surprise is both useless and insulting! You already killed the guy for no reason and in a completely stupid way, you do not need to remind us every week that he was OMG EVIL and Keith is OMG BETTER!
WE KNOW HE WAS CORRUPT! That is not why people were and still are upset about his death! WE ALSO KNOW that Keith will make a better sheriff and a generally nice and very awesome guy. But sending him on pointless and cliché vendettas is NOT a way to illustrate this point. I realize that the fact that his ex-wife is an alcoholic would make him sensitive about the matter, but.. still. *le eyeroll*
I accepted the jibe at Lamb in 3x15 when Keith was being noble about arresting Landry in class. It was something Keith would do, and it was a nice moment, even though it was a bit too LOOK HOW BADLY LAMB WOULD HAVE HANDLED THIS! COMPARE IT TO LAST WEEKS ARREST IN CLASS for my taste. But still, that was an acceptable contrasting of the two. But THIS? Was just poorly done and, I'll say it again, insulting. To both the fans and the characters.
The one good thing I have to say about it is that it brought us the very cute and funny moments of Wallace, Piz and Keith interaction, all of which were golden and perfect.
See, the thing is that I still deeply love these characters. I just hate what the writers are currently doing to them.
I don't have much to say about the CotW except for that I was surprised that I didn't hate it
as much as I had expected from seeing the opening scene on the CW website. I did think it was cheesy, but it was tolerable.
So let's get right down to the other big thing in this ep: Pizronica. First, let me say that if you're official shipper-name sounds like a fucking Pasta-dish? It is not a good sign!
See, I have several different issues with them becoming a ship. First of all, as I have said many times before, there is the fact that Piz is not V's type. Again, don't get me wrong, I LOVE him and would take him in a second. He is exactly the kind of guy I would fall for. But V? Not so much.
Then we have the OMG!MAGIC KISS OF LOVE-REVEALING!, which was just... well the kiss was kind of cute on Piz's side because he is so pretty and adorable, but it is just ridiculous on V's side. The one good thing this brought us so far was that Wallace (who had more than 20 seconds of screen time!!! alert the media!!) FINALLY told her to quit messing with Piz's head, which was looooooooooooooooooooooong overdue. This, unfortunately, led to more messing with his head. I really wonder how Wallace will take this, because I would think that he knows her well enough to know they couldn't work.
And let me say that this has nothing to do with the fact that LoVe USED to be my OTP. At this point, I honestly don't want them together. Hey, I fully support Logan/Parker, even if it leads to scary scary cakes and cheesy party-speeches. At least she makes him happy and lets him make her happy!
But the thing that pisses me of most about this thing? Is that it makes me hate Veronica. And I used to LOVE her so much!! She was literally my favorite female lead character, probably even surpassing Buffy. She was never perfect, and there have been many times where I wanted to hit her over the head before, but I always loved her. But ever since this season started, that love has turned first into annoyance, then into active dislike and now it's only getting worse.
Because WE KNOW that she will end up hurting him. I would think that there is no way they will end the series with them together. If they do go through with the insanely ridiculous "FBI-years" thing, we know that KB is the only one who would be in that thing, so obviously they would not stay together anyway. And the fact that we pretty much already know for a fact that she will break his adorable little heart makes me hate her, and that makes me hate the writers.
*sigh* The good thing about this ep is that I watched it with my friend Katharina and we're planning to watch the remaining episodes together as well, and that is wonderful even if the eps suck. I've never watched a new VM ep with anyone. ♥

But the thing that pisses me of most about this thing? Is that it makes me hate Veronica. And I used to LOVE her so much!! She was literally my favorite female lead character, probably even surpassing Buffy. She was never perfect, and there have been many times where I wanted to hit her over the head before, but I always loved her. But ever since this season started, that love has turned first into annoyance, then into active dislike and now it's only getting worse.
Because WE KNOW that she will end up hurting him. I would think that there is no way they will end the series with them together. If they do go through with the insanely ridiculous "FBI-years" thing, we know that KB is the only one who would be in that thing, so obviously they would not stay together anyway. And the fact that we pretty much already know for a fact that she will break his adorable little heart makes me hate her, and that makes me hate the writers.
*sigh* The good thing about this ep is that I watched it with my friend Katharina and we're planning to watch the remaining episodes together as well, and that is wonderful even if the eps suck. I've never watched a new VM ep with anyone. ♥
