It is, I gather, the sign of the Apocalypse. Or the firing of Matt Smith. Or the cancellation of DW (in time for what would have been the 50th anniversary--apparently, the BBC knows how to celebrate). Or further proof that NO ONE watches DW, even Steven Moffat, who'd rather work on Sherlock.
Ahhh...Nothing like a complete fandom frenzy, wallowing in a total lack of logic.
I like the idea of a split DW season. I have a feeling that Moffat will kill me with the promised cliffhanger (imagine DW5 ending with "The Pandorica Opens")....But what a way to fuel the summer with speculation.
I really don't get the objection that there will be nothing to watch in the summer --since there's nothing DW to watch in the summer, anyway. DW5 was all over before the end of June; now it's thumb-twiddling time until December and the Christmas special. Moffat's plan to split DW6 means DW in April/May, then more DW in September, and then a Christmas special in December. Same amount of screen time, but spread out. I don't see a problem. Or an Apocalypse. Or "proof" Smith and the show have been given the boot.
So. The cliffhanger. Hmmm. Amy/Rory? River? the Time Lords? The latter is a group that certainly needs revamping; "End of Time" was atrocious and incoherent....not sure how the Time Lords managed to pop up, anyway; then they hung around, being all muh-hah-ha! , including Dalton spit; and then.....they went away. So they definitely could use the Moffat Fix.
