Fandom: Star Trek XI
Pairing: eventual McCoy/Chekov ; mentions of past McCoy/Kirk
Notes: Part II of delighter's now quite tardy birthday gift. See her visual primer for an inkling of why our love is the truest love. And many many thanks to estei for her magnificent talent for making me feel less like a cheeseball. Part III is still scheduled for Friday.

So you already know how much I love this thing, because I told you in excruciating detail on the back deck until something started dripping on me. THAT SAID.

This is fucking amazing. Full stop. I still get a cold feeling in my chest when I read the last paragraph. The writing in this is, quite simply, nonpareil.

Oh, yeah. And see my response to delighter's most recent post for a very important message from me to you vis a vis rectum jokes. Hint: I AM NOT AMUSED.

Also. Why is there not a copy of Soul Kitchen in my hands right now?

How does 8:30 sound for a pick up? Alternately, we could walk. Actually, we probably should, as it's barely 7 blocks from your place and my parking skills are shittttt. So I could just meet you at your place? At 8:30?

I hear kidneys smell like pee when they're cooking. Unfortch, I didn't hear that until after I'd posted this section. Poppy Z Brite told me TOO LATE, THAT BITCH.

"Like he knows that McCoy is probably laughing at him, but he doesn’t mind, because the act of laughing is valuable enough to forgive."

This.

Reading your writing is like a really, really good session of sex. With multiple orgasms.

Okay. Too graphic. But you get the point? All the little details are just right. The style flows from eloquent to grungy and back again. It's an amazing piece of art, as they all are. I feel guilty reading this in a semi-public place, it's so good.

This is really stunningly good writing. McCoy here is such a freakin' trainwreck but you want him to get it together. Nice not to have Kirk be the wreck this time...

What a lovely compliment! Thank you! Trainwrecks are certainly my subject of choice, and I'm glad it reads convincingly. :) :) :)

Oh wow. This is an exquisitely crafted AU, and I can't get enough of it! I'm horribly sad that this is ending in one part, because it's such a beautiful 'verse. You obviously know what you're talking about, or at least have done plenty of research, because it shows ( ... )

Wow, you nailed everything. Seriously. It's a pleasure to have someone read a story so closely to what I was thinking at the time - thank you so much.

That said, you're totally right, I failed to wrap this up in a meagre 6000 words. FAIL. I FAIL.
