this woman's work

This weekend: it got a lot colder. I finally noticed the tree outside my window turned orange-yellow. Got drunk. Went to Brooklyn. Watched like 53101209591871 football games. Watched SNL. Had brunch on Saturday and Sunday at the diner. Worked on two essays. Bought a brand new sandwich box that I love.

Just wanted to share some songs I've been loving this week, all female artists. I'd say my favorite is Taylor Swift's "White Horse," but they're all excellent - really dreamy, sweet and lovely songs. Several of them are covers.

Taylor Swift, Fearless
And I don't know how it gets better than this
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance
in a storm in my best dress

So baby drive slow
‘Til we run out of road in this one horse town

Amelia Wagner, World Spins Madly On
I just got lost and slept right through the dawn
And the world spins madly on

Heaven On The Rocks, Falling Slowly
Take this sinking boat and point it home

Libbie Schrader, Come When I Call
I'm coming clean here before you
I have no way of knowing if I'm going too far
C'mon and change me without warning

Taylor Swift, White Horse
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town.
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down.

Amelia Wagner, Such Great Heights
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away

Amelia Wagner, The Way I Am
If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match

Heaven on the Rocks, I'm Yours
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

LeAnn Rimes, What I Cannot Change
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
