Songs and pictures behind the cut, please forgive me for sometimes just taking the literal interpretation of the lyrics. Sometimes I found the picture first and thought of the song; in other cases I had to find a picture to match the song. Sometimes the accompanying picture fit the lyrics, sometimes I thought they fit the sound of the song instead.

Credits: I linked back to the photographer/artist when I could; if I couldn't find the source, I linked back to the picture I found. Click the links for the originals; I cropped (didn't resize) the photos a little to make things neater.

weheartit Damien Rice, Dogs
she's got a wolf to keep her warm.

weheartit Amanda Palmer, I Will Follow You Into The Dark
If there's no one beside you
when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Eleanor Hardwick (lenaah) Antje Duvekot, Anna
It's 1925 in New Orleans
You are in your favorite dress
Your brother is at your dad's hand
And you're on your way to the Harborfest
There will be apples on sticks and fish stands
And you'll get to wave at the passing ships

complejo (deviantart)
Sara Bareilles, City
Here in these deep city lights
Girl could get lost tonight
I'm finding every reason to be gone.

homako (flickr) Patty Griffin, Rain
I just want another chance to live

unemo (deviantart) Gregory and the Hawk - Boats and Birds
if you be my boat
I'll be your sea
I live to make you free

Mike Stimpson Secret Machines, 1,000 Seconds
You and I standing in a crowded room
We were pressed together but we're holding on
Like we're all that was

Eleanor Hardwick (lenaah) Gregory and the Hawk - A Wish
And my blood won't stick
to the confines of my veins

weheartit Lauren Hoffman, In All The Gin Joints In All The World
You only hold me up like this,
'cuz you don't know who I really am

weheartit Amos Lee, Sweet Pea
Sweet pea
apple of my eye
Don't know when and I don't know why
you're the only reason I keep on coming home

weheartit Regina Spektor, Samson
You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first

Bonnie and Clyde (1967 film) Martina Sorbara, Bonnie and Clyde
And we will drive like bandits
on the Queensway
And you'll just capture me like it was
armed robbery.

sara-hare @ flickr Snow Patrol, You Could Be Happy
You could be happy,
I hope you are.

weheartit Bishop Allen, Click Click Click Click
Are you tired of where you've gone?
And you think you might belong
in a moment when you step out of the rain?
And you've ended up in someone else's frame?
And their memory now is never quite the same
And they never even thought to ask your name
