I see. It sounds like you have your hands full with civilians. Better than them being dead, of course, but still...
In case you didn't see the entry I wrote a while ago, I'm Eagle, Commander-in-Chief of the Green Earth armies. We'd gone under Ellay's banner before everything went to hell. I'd say that gives us a precedent to be allies, but under the circumstances, anybody would have to be a fool not to band together against the SSA. Previous relations don't mean a lot.

I really hope I don't wind up having to work with Sturm or the like, though. I'd put up with Lash at this point, maybe even Hawke...

It is a pleasure to meet you, sir. I am Roy of Pherae, former general of Ostia.
In part, I agree. However, after seeing the destruction in Ostia we had all but given up hope. Our only options seemed to be splitting ways and trying to live some sort of normal life. But now that the journals seem to be working, this may change. Yet, I do tire of all this needless death.

The only incident that I can recall is an attack against some sort of facility that controlled this planet's weather. It was led by a rabbit named... uh... Pepper? At the time the weather here was out of control, but I know very little about it.
I recall that. So, one offensive, where I think we didn't even know if the SSA was in control of the facility, and it was pretty late in the history of this world. I'd say we gave the Subbies plenty of chance to explain themselves and make peace, and they've done nothing but attack us without provocation or warning. I'm tired of watching people die too, been doing it most of my life, but it's high time we struck back at our oppressors. At least now there shouldn't be nearly as much petty squabbling and distrust between people. We can focus on the real enemy.

You're right, but were they not responsible for bringing us here? If so, then why just destroy us? Unless they were not responsible for it. It makes little sense.
As far as striking back, how do you propose to do so? We had little means to do so before, and even less now. Their technology is far beyond anything I or anyone from my world has ever seen.
Conquest, not destruction. They want what we have, and quite possibly they want us as well, or as many of us as they can subjugate. That's why the cities they've driven out or destroyed military presence from are still standing, with their civilians relatively intact. We can be thankful for that, at least.
I agree that fighting back isn't going to be easy. Their technology is more advanced than what we have in my world too, and there's a lot more of them than there are of us--don't even know how much more. But they have to have some weaknesses, and now that we're down to such small numbers, there are ways we can resist and study them that would've been too cumbersome before. Guerrilla tactics, you know. We'll figure out something.

What I wouldn't give to have Sami here...
[Roy of Pharae]Actually, I wouldn't want to broadcast this too widely, even without the SSA seeing it directly, but I have a trick or two even the SSA can't match. I think, anyway. Anyhow, I've been able to spy on them a little, and I'm

Yes, but even so. The brutal methods and tactics of the SSA go beyond anything I have ever known. But then, this is a far different place than where I came from. This level of destruction and conquest could not be matched in Elibe.
You're planning an attack? I would certainly appreciate any information you could give, and I wish you the best of luck. If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks, but I have all the operatives I need for this particular mission. You concentrate on finding a safe place for your people. I'll keep you in mind for future operations.

You're a commander, aren't you? What's your status? Have you managed to organize any sort of resistance?

I am traveling with what little remains of Ostia's army, and possibly the cities' only survivors. Including its Queen.
