Waiting
The next stop for Dad is visiting an oncologist. This is a really difficult point, waiting to know what the situation is, meanwhile he has cancer in his belly. It's creepy to think of its presence there untreated. And then today step-mom (who raised me from 10-20, but they've been divorced for 20 years) told my husband on the phone that she wasn't surprised to hear it because my dad "holds his emotions in so much." Is her judgment irritating or what? She still can't resist getting in a little dig. Get over it already, it's been 20 years and you have a happy life. She is "worried for my dad -- for the kid's sake" (she made sure to add).
