The hall has turned out beautifully; white church candles line the makeshift aisle and there’s just the right amount of light for everyone to see clearly. If anything, Bel has gone overboard with the flowers; white roses adorn the large archway where the altar stands, winding around it, and similar displays are on every surface. It’s a fairytale ( Read more... )

And so the music began, that traditional song, Reii couldn't remember the name of it. Some stupid thing, it was the march. Although not the funeral one. He brushed his hands through his hair, waiting at the altar. Fidgeting was more an accurate description of his doings. He fussed with everything around him. A smile the furthest expression from his lips.

The song was Canon in D by Pachelbel, the tune to which Bel rather likes, despite having heard it at many of her previous weddings. While everything is quickly being set up, she's managed to duck behind the door and clip the short veil down over her face.

Now gathering everyone to her -- Abigail at one side, and Lester, bearing the rings, at the other -- she has time for one long deep breath before she opens the door and manages a fairly graceful walk to join Reii at the altar. Her breath is stilted, and if she's blushing it's fortunately obscured by a thin layer of netted fabric.

She shoots Reii a rather nervous smile, slipping his hand into hers and listening as the sermon begins.

And there she was, marching down the aisle with her whoever was giving her away, Reii felt himself still as they reached him, veil down over her face. His pulse was racing and he felt as though he might faint, all of the blood was rushing to his face it felt.

Reii took her grip with a quick squeeze of his own hand, turning to hear whatever it was they were supposed to hear. Probably the priest they had hired, that was supposed to be next, wasn't it? He wasn't sure he heard anything except from a strange distance. Like everything was far away.

Lester hands the rings to the priest, who then holds out one to each of them, guiding their words. Bel takes another long, steadying breath and catches Reii's gaze, a question in her wide eyes before she slips the ring onto his finger.

One last chance to back out, ahe says silently.

And Reii took the other ring, gently clasping Bel's hand, he slipped the ring onto the appropriate finger. There was no question in his eyes, but certainly a sort of nervous quality.

"Better or poorer and all of that nonsense, right?"

Bel can't help but chuckle slightly at that commment. "Close enough. But yes, all that nonsense."

Then the priet proclaims them husband and wife, and gives them permission to kiss. Bel takes a little half-step forward, lifting the veil from before her eyes.

Reii was not the most romantic individual, it would be closer to say that romance was not really in his character, but when Bel lifted her veil his heart may have skipped a tiny beat. He moved to meet her, hands curling around her waist, the man pushed forward and their lips met in the middle, eyes sliding shut.

There's a hitch in Bel's breath as hands slide so surely around her waist, she makes a small noise that could be surprise or relief when their lip finally meet.

Someone, somewhere -- someone that Bel will hunt down later -- starts the cheering and clapping and within a moment half the room has broken out into applause.

It didn't matter what the noise was, only that it didn't sound displeased. Reii's face flared red when the cheering started, he'd forgotten there was a bit of a crowd watching them.

He pulled away from his bride and glowered, or attempted to. He couldn't keep the smallest of smiles from his lips. "Did we really need the fanfare?"

Bel attempts to meet the crowd with a serious, accusing expression, but quickly succumbs to laughter, shrugging.

"Apparently so," she says, her gaze catching the smile on Reii's lips.

"This is why I hate public events." Reii hid his smile behind a hand, feeling foolish for the entire thing, any emotional display other than varying degrees of anger made him feel foolish.

The man drew Bel to him a moment later in a warm embrace, grinning despite himself. "When are we supposed to dance?"

"Even your own?" Bel responds, something of a smirk on her lips as the first bars of 'their song' begin to play and their friends gather around in a circke.

"I suppose that answers your question." Her arm quickly slides up his shoulder, the other hand catching his firmly. "I hope that you recall your lesson."

"Especially my own." With Elton John in his ears and around them and people forming a circle, Reii had no choice but to collect Bel about the waist, on of his hands resting gently there.

"I won't embarrass you anyway." He grinned back at Bel, moving in a typical waltz, his face seemed a constant red coloring.

"I have faith in you," Bel grins, letting Reii move her through the dance, pressed as close as she can be without tripping over the other's feet.

"Mayhap ill founded faith." Which may have been difficult as he was attempting to press against the other and hide himself from the crowd that had gathered. It was all kinds of awkward.

"I think not," Bel giggles, just a little giddy as she twirls. "If anything, I will trip in these shoes. They exist for admiration, not for dancing."
